Supply scope for drilling and production assets

Ex LED supply is managed for environments where compliance, corrosion resistance, and maintenance practicality drive procurement outcomes. Product selection is matched to the hazardous area zone classification, installation constraints, and certification fit. No uncontrolled substitutions.

Offshore drilling units

Drillships, semisubs, jack-ups, tender rigs. Deck, derrick, machinery space, E-house perimeter, temporary lighting.

Production and storage

FPSO, FSO, fixed platforms, offshore storage and production. Process areas, modules, utility spaces, escape routes.

Onshore processing

Refineries, LNG plants, terminals, tank farms. Classified zones requiring controlled certification and documentation.

Multi-OEM supply coverage

Supply is built around correct-fit selection and a controlled documentation pack. Equipment is sourced across certified OEM ranges and approved distributor networks. Ancillaries are included as part of the package so installation does not drift into non-compliant substitutions.

Typical supply environments

Supply is structured to meet inspection and audit requirements first time. These environments reflect where selection, documentation, and traceability matter.

Refinery and LNG process areas Controlled Ex LED supply with documentation and traceability suitable for verification.
Offshore deck and derrick lighting Marine-grade luminaires selected for corrosion exposure and ingress protection.
Helideck lighting Correct-fit Ex luminaires with controlled selection, documentation, and spares continuity.

How supply is controlled

Supply is run as a controlled work package so procurement and verification align with Ex requirements. The sequence below matches how projects are executed and how evidence is assessed during audit.

  • 1) Inputs and constraints captured: Hazardous area zone classification, gas group, temperature class, IP, voltage, mounting, cable entry, corrosion environment.
  • 2) Installed population verified: Fixture list and locations confirmed. Existing markings and constraints checked. Unknowns isolated before selection is frozen.
  • 3) Correct-fit selection locked: Like-for-like or controlled equivalent with documented acceptance criteria, boundaries, and any installation constraints clearly stated.
  • 4) Procurement control applied: Line-item mapping, lead-time plan, and a no-substitution rule unless formally approved against the constraint set.
  • 5) Ancillaries controlled: Cable glands, fixings, brackets, earthing and bonding components aligned to the selected equipment and constraint set.
  • 6) Receipt and documentation verified: Certificates, data plates, manuals, packing list mapping, and product identification captured in a verification-ready format.
  • 7) Handover pack issued: Delivery mapping, spares continuity plan, and register-ready evidence for close-out.

Ignition control, supply-led

Ignition control is protected when selection, supply, and evidence are treated as one controlled sequence. The objective is to prevent wrong-fit, wrong marking, and undocumented substitutions entering the installed population.

  • Correct marking and suitability: Ex marking, gas group, temperature class, IP, and environmental suitability matched to the classified location and constraints.
  • Wrong-fit prevention: Non-equivalent substitutions are blocked unless a documented equivalence is approved.
  • Traceability chain: Purchase to delivery mapping, product identification, and documentation retained so evidence survives audit and acceptance review.
  • Ancillary drift stopped: Glands, fixings, earthing and bonding items are controlled so field teams do not substitute to what is available.
  • Close-out readiness: Evidence is structured for verification, NCR avoidance, and controlled handover without rework.

Installation support (optional)

Supply can be delivered as materials only, or with installation support depending on site constraints and client requirements. Scope is controlled to protect certification intent and avoid uncontrolled changes in the field.

Materials only

Supply with documentation pack, ancillaries, spares strategy, and handover mapping for client teams and contractors.

Supervised installation

On-site support for mounting approach, cable entry constraints, glands and fixings selection, and controlled handover documentation.

Turnkey supply and install

Where agreed, supply and install delivery with defined boundaries, close-out requirements, and controlled substitutions policy.

Deliverables that meet inspection requirements

Each supply package is structured so procurement and verification follow through inspection, audit, and acceptance review, including class verification (e.g. DNV / ABS). Traceability and documentation are treated as part of the deliverable.

Certificate pack

IECEx and ATEX documentation supplied where applicable, mapped to product lines and data plates.

Traceability capture

Serials, markings, delivery mapping, and product identification suitable for asset registers.

Ancillaries and spares continuity

Glands, fixings, brackets, earthing and bonding items included and controlled. Spares strategy to prevent drift and mixed populations.
